We're Finding Serious Inspiration In This Editor's Minimalistic Look

Minimalism doesn't have to be boring, even in the day and age of oversized prints and larger than life volumes. For Lauren Caruso, super editor and basically, a style icon, minimalism is part of her everyday wardrobe. But, it has a twist. All of her outfits include a standout piece, which makes the monochromatic and staple color tones ten times more lively, and ten times chicer. On Instagram, she posted a shot of her in a simple t-shirt, the plastic bamboo-handled bag of now, a side-split denim skirt and slides. See? Not boring at all.

Sienna Miller Does Summer Chic Effortlessly

Spotted during an afternoon walk through New York, Sienna Miller reminded us why we love her effortless style so much. The actress and style icon wore a pale blue dotted dress, with suede mules in the same hue. Instead of opting for a flat sneaker, the classic mule gave the look a polished, but cool, feel. To contrast with the tone on tone theme, she broke up the colors with a brown leather crossbody and black cat-eye sunglasses.

Fur coats crept onto the fall runways from New York to Paris but these were not your great aunts 60's inspired coats in tasteful browns or blacks, however. Instead, designers have worked in a variety of hues, from pastels to royal blues --- sometimes even a combination into a single coat. Style icon Gilda Ambrosio made her otherwise staple outfit of blue jeans and a black sweater into something statement-making by tossing a fluffy pink coat and over-the-knee boots on with it.

Pink has become a neutral color in its own right. It can be worn with whites, blacks, and even mustard tones. This street style icon was spotted wearing a pink oversized blouse with white wide-leg pants and white block heel shoes. Overwhelming color? We think not.

Who is Your Style Icon?

Le Fashion Blog Leandra Medine Who Is Your Style Icon Via Were Not Exclusive
Photo via: Man Repeller

We all have one. Sometimes we don't even know it. But that's why I am asking the big question: Who is your personal style icon? At first, I was obsessed with Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. I tried to emulate everything she did and owned (besides Chuck Bass, unfortunately) I bought bows, headbands, colorful tights and patent leather mary janes. My closet was exploding with a fictional character's aesthetic. At the time, it was a fantastic idea. I still can't watch Gossip Girl without feeling a twinge of pressure to start it all over again. That was in the past, though. Now, I find inspiration through many things. Like Instagram, Pinterest, bloggers and more. My favorite person to take style cues from lately has to be Leandra Medine.

We would love to know! Who is your style icon? Who was it before? And who is it currently? Leave your answers in the comment section below.
