There's something so inherently luxurious about silk; whether it be in a pillowcase, a button-down shirt, or a pair of fluid trousers. During fashion month, the fabric was everywhere––fashion girl's find new ways to reinvent the trend each season. We all have one. Sometimes we don't even know it. But that's why I am asking the big question: Who is your personal style icon? At first, I was obsessed with Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. I tried to emulate everything she did and owned (besides Chuck Bass, unfortunately) I bought bows, headbands, colorful tights and patent leather mary janes. My closet was exploding with a fictional character's aesthetic. At the time, it was a fantastic idea. I still can't watch Gossip Girl without feeling a twinge of pressure to start it all over again. That was in the past, though. Now, I find inspiration through many things. Like Instagram, Pinterest, bloggers and more. My favorite person to take style cues from lately has to be Leandra Medine.

Leandra Medine Shows Us A New Way To Wear A Button Up Shirt

A button down and jeans can sound utterly boring. A button down twisted into a one-shouldered shirt is a whole other game. As Leandra Medine said: all you have to do is slip your arm into one arm hole and then fasten a button just above your boob on the other side of the shirt. Wrap the empty arm hole around your waist and fasten one more button hole with one of the buttons from the sleeve. Pair this newly structured top with a pair of retro jeans, a straw tote bag and wedge pumps and you're ready to take on the world looking your absolute best.
