The Double-Denim Look We're Taking From Couture Week
Photo via: Stylecaster
In the midst of ball gowns, floor-sweeping sheer silhouettes and embellished heels, there is denim. Double denim to be exact. Spotted on the streets of Paris, this model sported a denim jacket layered beneath a black puffer jacket (one of the favorite outerwear trends of the season) straight-leg jeans and boots. Although it was much more pared down than the outfits around her, it still made its own statement.

NYFW Is Proof That The Maximalist Coat is Here to Stay
Photo via: Harper's Bazaar
The shift in fashion since 2010 has been major. At one point, the entire fashion conversation was about crisp clean lines, neutral palettes, and sophistication. But the tides have turned and those same gurus lining up outside of CĂ©line stores for cashmere turtlenecks are now ordering rainbow colored crewnecks with bedazzled tigers adorned on their backs. Maximalism is in and seemingly here to stay. At New York Fashion Week, the streets were packed with major, standout outerwear. From orange puffer coats and vinyl trenches to fur-lined parkas and pastel faux furs, find your next statement coat below.

Courtney Trop Shows Us How To Update A Blazer
Photo via: @Alwaysjudging
Instead of pairing a blazer with a blouse, skinny jeans, and black ankle boots, innovative fashion blogger Courtney Trop played with modernized staple pieces. Her blazer was oversized and her jeans were loose and cropped. She opted for a flat square-toed patent boot and an equally shiny bag that pulled the entire look together. Who said staple pieces have to be boring?
