With our latest outfit collage we take on how to make your go-to sweater and denim outfit look put together and polished. It's all about adding in elevated shoes and accessories. I've gotten some requests recently to share my beauty routine, so even though this is a bit out of my comfort zone, I figured why not have a little fun (hello, kissy face!), and give you guys the run-down. I've always been pretty low-key and try to get my makeup done in about 15 minutes. Here's what I currently use for my daily go-to beauty look...
BLUSH/BRONZER/HIGHLIGHTER: For some definition, I use either the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Bronzer, Highlighter & Blush Palette in Streak or BareMinerals All-Over Face Color in Warmth. I blend the bronzer with any brush I have handy along my cheekbones, hairline and lightly on my nose and chin. If I'm in the mood for a little color I add some of the blush from the palette over the apples of my cheeks. For highlighting, I'm obsessed with Chantecaille Liquid Lumière Illuminator in Sheen. I dab a little along the top of my cheeks, the inner corner of my eyes and under my brow arch for a flattering and subtle glow.
EYES: To begin, I lightly dab one of the bronzers mentioned earlier to my lids for a little depth. Next, I tightline my eyes with simple black eyeliner. I like to use the Almay Contour Crayon Eyeliner since it doesn't smudge as much as a pencil. If I want to add some flair and have some extra time, I like to do a winged cat-eye look with Cover Girl Intensify Me! Liquid Liner. To complete my eyes, I go straight for my Shiseido Eyelash Curler and throw on a few coats of Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara in Very Black.

As some of you may know from my instagram feed, I spent the month of August exploring Los Angeles and other parts of California. I've been many times, but never this long, so it was great to finally be able to check out more of what I hadn't gotten to yet. Anyway, I thought it'd be cool to do a quick guide with some of my LA favorites. Enjoy!
BEST PLACE TO STAY:
Pretty much every time I come to LA I use Airbnb. It's cheaper than a hotel and you can find some AMAZING spots in all the different neighborhoods. This time around I found gems in Malibu and in West Hollywood. Both were in perfect locations, had great interior design and private pools. This made it real hard to leave!
BEST WAY TO GET AROUND:
Hands down, Silvercar. Ever since my first experience renting with them in Dallas, I was hooked. When I heard they opened in LA, I was super excited since the LAX rental car situation can be a serious pain. The process is seamless- you reserve and pick up your rental using their app. The best part is that all their cars are stunning silver Audis with GLORIOUS built-in wi-fi. I selfishly admit that this was perfect for catching up on emails/instagram/twitter/vine/facebook while my poor fiance drove us around in LA traffic.
Good news is that Silvercar has offered to give my readers a 20% discount off their next rental using the code: SILVERCARLEF. This is perfect if you plan on visiting Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver, San Francisco, Miami or Phoenix any time soon. Score!
BEST PLACES TO SHOP:
These are just some of the few I got to hit up while in town, but there are MANY more I am still dying to browse spend all my money at...
Jenni Kayne - 614 N Almont Dr. West Hollywood, CA 90069 (310) 860-0123
I seriously lost my mind over the F/W 2014 collection (the shoes!), the Mansur Gavriel bags and the swoon-worthy selection of jewelry.
Isabel Marant - 8454 Melrose Pl. Los Angeles, CA 90069 (323) 651-1493
I already knew I'd love seeing the collections, so for me the best part was simply seeing the insanely cool design of both the inside and outside of the space. Can I move in please?
General Store - 1801 Lincoln Blvd. Venice, CA 90291 (310) 751-6393
I'm such a fan girl of Hannah Henderson, so this spot was high on my list. The place is filled with an eclectic selection of goodies. I'm head over heels for the jewelry, especially the earrings and ring selection. Can't wait to go back.

i was super excited to get the opportunity to interview JADE from SUNDAYGIRL! i loved her style in her video "four floors" and wanted to know more about her. she agreed to answer some questions... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is it annoying to keep being be asked if the name SundayGirl was inspired by the Blondie hit? I know it's not the inspiration, but it must be asked a lot. The name Sunday Girl came from working in a local old fashioned pet shop in my hometown, Broxbourne for a few years. I worked every Sunday but no one really knew my name so I would just get referred to as the “Sunday girl.” I know you're 21 and from the UK...How does your age and living in the UK influence your music and style? Two years ago I moved to Brixton to do an art degree in Wimbledon I think that brought out a more independent creativity. I really experimented with my writing and production musically as well as producing pieces for my set design degree, which I found were closely linked.
In my teens I went a bit mad going through loads of style changes, as everyone does I suppose but I think its great to experiment with fashion and make and destroy clothes and really find what you like. I think my style now is quite classic, tailored and masculine. I love dressing like a boy it’s a contrast to my big girly hair.
Music influences my style too, I mean one minute I was in a ska band the next a ukulele band doing old jazz covers.
Style Icons? My main style icon is Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. I love how she turned clothes designed for men into something that women could wear too. I also take influences from Jane Birkin, Daphne Guinness, Debbie Harry , Karl Lagerfeld and Edie Sedgwick.
Favorite designers and/or places to shop? H&M and Zara for the basics and my loft, my nans wardrobe a bit of car boot sales and vintage shops for making it personal.
I noticed you wearing stripes in the video...are you as obsessed with stripes as I am? Yes I am a bit obsessed with stripes but anything Parisian and sea related really.
Words to live by? “get good at asking” + “if you don’t act on life it has a habit of acting on you” Favorite City? My favourite place has to be Hastings. My dad has a caravan there, which I go to most weekends to write, draw and shop.
Beauty product you couldn't live without? I'm bad with makeup I never buy my own, I steal everyone else’s but I think I could live without my Clarins Bi-serum after a night out.
Do you read any fashion blogs? If so, which ones? LOOKBOOK.nu and I admire Tavi Gevinsons blog, StyleRookie.
What's in your bag? My Dad’s raybans , lyric book, a fork, tooth brush, ideas book, diary, camera, devon floral sweets. My vintage Cartier wallet and some cds.
for more check out the SUNDAYGIRL's myspace. so you all know there will be another single released soon. the album should be available later this year.
Every winter, we come across a new beauty look that becomes our go-to for the rest of the season. This year, we are loving this warm, romantic look. It not only looks beautiful, but it is also super easy to pull off. To start, you'll need a good brow pencil to fill in your brows for a polished feel. For your eyes. try a neutral peach eyeshadow for a subtle swipe of color over the lids and then a swipe or two of mascara. To finish off the look, apply a rosy blush on the apples of your cheeks and complete with a semi-matte burgundy lipstick.
Happy to share that my fiancé and I have finally set a wedding date in July. As some of you may know, my father passed away about a month after we got engaged, so naturally a wedding was no longer top of mind for us. Though it won't be easy not having him there, we feel the timing is right. Many of you may be wondering how or why we are only giving ourselves two and a half months to pull this off, and the answer is that we are going for a small, intimate, and simple celebration. Thankfully, our families will conveniently be in the area for that date. Click below to find out more about my wedding prep and plans...
